1. Who is responsible

2. What data we process

• Account data: your email and name when you sign in (residents via a one-time email link; businesses with email + password).
• Business profile data: the details, contact info, hours and images that providers add to their profile.
• Content you post: recommendations, tips, requests and offers you share in the community and Find & Offer.
• Enquiries: messages you send a business through the contact form — shared with that business so they can reply.
• Notifications: a push-subscription token if you enable notifications (used to send them; removed when you turn them off).
• Usage data: which profiles are viewed and which topics are tapped, so businesses see genuine, aggregated demand.
• Technical data: IP address and access time, kept briefly for security and to operate the service.
• On-device storage: your saved items, preferences and blocked users are stored on your device.

3. AI features

To provide translations and the AI concierge, some content (for example a profile text or your question) is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic, via the Vercel AI Gateway) to generate a translation or answer. It is processed transiently and is not used to train models.

4. Purpose & legal basis

We process data to create and run profiles, let residents and businesses connect, send you notifications you asked for, and provide and secure the service. Legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interest in a working, trusted platform (Art. 6(1)(f)), and your consent where required, e.g. push notifications (Art. 6(1)(a)).

5. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the service and share only what is needed. Some are based in the USA; such transfers rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage
• Vercel — website/app hosting and content delivery
• Resend — transactional emails (e.g. sign-in links, notifications)
• Anthropic (via the Vercel AI Gateway) — AI text processing for translations and the concierge

6. Sharing

Recommendations and posts you make public are visible to other users. Enquiries go to the business you contacted. We do not sell your personal data.

7. How long we keep it

We keep data while your account or profile is active, or as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. Reports and moderation records are kept as long as needed to keep the community safe.

8. Your rights & deleting your account

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict processing. You can delete your account and data at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account, or the dashboard for businesses) or by emailing hello@thealgarvehub.com. You may also complain to a data-protection authority.

9. Notifications

Push notifications are optional. You can enable or disable them at any time in the app or your device settings.

10. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
